These questions will help you decide if your pet is of breeding quality or not.
If you answer NO to any of the questions below then your dog should be neutered.
1. Is your dog purebred?
2. Where did you get your dog?
(if your dog came from a pet store, shelter or you found it, it should be neutered.) If you got your dog from a breeder proceed to the next question.
3. Did you get a three or four generation pedigree with your dog?
4. Are there at LEAST four Titled dogs (conformation, obedience, etc.) in the last three generations of the pedigree?
5. Does your dog have a STABLE temperament?
6. Does your dog fit the Breed Standard?
7. Has your dog been certified (OFA or Pennhip, Heart Certified, Thyroid Normal) FREE of Genetic Diseases?
If you answered no to any of these questions
GET YOUR PET NEUTERED!!!
If you answered yes to all these questions, then yes your dog is of breeding quality. However, if you are not active in
showing or working your dog, think very carefully about your reason for breeding. Breeding should be done to improve the breed, not so the kids can see puppies being born, or because you want "a puppy from her," and NEVER to make money selling puppies!
DON'T BREED OUT OF GREED!
